Ahead of the Africa Netball Cup scheduled for Botswana from November 26 to December 6, Peter Chileshe, the coach of the men's netball team, has made significant roster changes by dropping six players. Chileshe explained in a recent interview that these decisions were based on individual player performance. The athletes who will not be participating in the upcoming tournament are Suwilanji Simukoko, James Banda, Zifyanji Singoyi, Emmanuel Mwanza, Roderick Kang'ombe, and Crispin Kasongo. Despite these exclusions, Chileshe remains optimistic about the potential of the remaining 14 players to achieve positive outcomes for the team. In addition to the men's team, Zambia will also be fielding a women's netball team in the Botswana tournament. Chileshe expressed the ambitious goal of the men's team to reach the final in their debut appearance. Drawing inspiration from the success of their female counterparts, who currently hold the fifth position in Africa, Chileshe emphasizes the men's team's aspiration to match and exceed the standards set by the women's squad in the upcoming Africa Netball Cup. The Fourteen players include Defenders Chola Tembo, Farai Mapulungu from Green Eagles, Timothy Ulukile, Frank Nsanga from Green Buffaloes and Elisha Simuchimba from Nkwazi In midcourt are,Donald Sankonki from Luena, Bernard Mukangala, Ian Hachizovu from Green Buffaloes and Nathan Kaluneta from UNZA. And the shooters include Teddy Chansa from Kitwe Rifles, Alex Chilubwe, Ezekiel Phiri, Kennedy Chipili from Green Buffaloes, and Lamek Zimba from Nkwazi.
