ZAF, Vedanta, Atlas Mara, and NOCZ have stepped up to assist Netball Zambia, effectively reducing the deficit to K204,000. Leading the charge, Vedanta Resources Limited and Atlas Mara generously presented K100,000 and K40,000, respectively, ahead of the Africa Netball Cup slated for Gaborone, Botswana, from November 28th to December 6th, 2023. Masuzyo Ndhlovu, Director of Corporate Communications at Vedanta Resources Limited, conveyed that this contribution aligns with the company's commitment to social responsibility. Ndhlovu emphasized Vedanta's support for various sports activities in the country, pledging ongoing dedication to such initiatives. Going beyond financial aid, Atlas Mara also sponsored 41 T-shirts and 41 caps for the team, while the Zambia Air Force provided a free chartered plane to and from Botswana. Sichone expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their pivotal role in reducing the budget deficit. Speaking to ZedSport,she expressed disappointment in the painful decision that had to be made to leave the men's team as they could not meet the entire budge. She earnestly called upon the President, First Lady, and Vice President to unite in providing essential support, ensuring the successful participation of team in this prestigious tournament.
