Zambia National Women's Netball Team, led by Coach Lazarus Tembo, is prepared for the Africa Netball Cup starting today at the UB Indoor Sports Arena in Gaborone, Botswana. Tembo has affirmed the team's readiness, noting a strong performance in training, with the exception of defender Esther Kunda, who missed Monday's session due to illness. The team plans to launch a strong attack against Eswatini in the opening game on Tuesday at 15:00 Central African Time. Midcourt player Elizabeth Bwalya reflected on the upcoming match against Eswatini, recalling their victory over the Kingdom side in the 2023 Africa Netball World Cup Qualifiers in Pretoria, South Africa, with a score of 64-50. As South Africa, Uganda, and Malawi are not participating, Zambia is set to be the highest-ranked team, following Zimbabwe. The Eswatini vs. Zambia match will kick off the tournament at 15:00, followed by Namibia vs. Zimbabwe at 17:00, and the hosts Botswana concluding the day against Kenya at 19:00.
