Zambia made a great start at the Africa Netball Cup, initiating the tournament with a strong performance against Eswatini at the UB Indoor Sports Arena in Gaborone, Botswana. The Copper Queens, under the guidance of Coach Lazarus Tembo, took the lead in the first quarter with a score of 14-10. By halftime, they had doubled the difference, reaching a score of 33-25. Entering the third quarter, Coach Tembo introduced four fresh pairs of hands, providing every player an opportunity to contribute. The team didn't disappoint, increasing the goal tally to 47-36. The Zambian girls maintained their momentum, securing a victory of 63-47 in the fourth and final quarter. Zambia's next challenge is against Namibia on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, at 11:00. The Africa Netball Cup follows a round-robin format, where teams accumulate points. The team with the highest number of points will advance to the final, facing off against the second-placed team in a bid for the championship.
