22nd April 2023, the Zambia Volleyball Association (ZAVA) Conducted a successful Annual General Meeting at the University of Zambia (UNZA) with support from other partners. At UNZA, ZAVA has agreed to Increase participation across all forms and levels of volleyball available in Zambia to include schools, clubs, colleges, and communities through vibrant competitions and recreational opportunities. "We will provide strong leadership that continuously develops a fit-for-purpose, progressive, and effective organization with transparent systems, processes, and governance," ZAVA added. The association later said that they will support all member clubs in a series of development activities for players, coaches, and referees to get the best possible volleyball experience in a supportive way. To promote Sustainability, Volleyball Zambia will support development structures and pathway plan that promotes the improvement of players, referees, coaches, and volunteers through a vibrant club and competition structure. "We will increase our participation and performance in international events through the introduction of a high-performance specific strategy," The Association further narrated. To ensure that all Volleyball clubs feel supported, ZAVA has pledged to increase the profile and promotion of volleyball across several platforms by communicating more effectively and marketing key events and achievements. ZAVA will therefore Launch a Women’s Commission whose objective will be to increase women's participation at all levels of the Volleyball structures, from players, Referees, Coaches, female teams, and Administrators, and introduce Referees affiliation.
