Copper Queens Head Coach Bruce Mwape believes Sunday's friendly against Tanzania is crucial for assessing new players in the provisional squad and determining their inclusion. Mwape expressed, "The game on Sunday is an opportunity to assess some players who will join those already selected. Some players don't require assessment, as we already know them. Hopefully, we won't encounter any injuries." After a training session at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka, Mwape mentioned that the technical bench is working towards reducing the squad size from 35 to 26 players. The recent friendly matches have exposed the team's weaknesses, and the technical bench has been addressing those issues. Mwape highlighted the importance of the upcoming friendlies during the international camp, as they will provide an opportunity for the team to evaluate themselves and become acquainted with the playing style of other higher-level teams before the World Cup. He hopes that spending ample time together before the tournament will enable the team to bond and understand each other better.
