China-based defender Stophila Sunzu will join the team in Ndola after finishing his club duties. He will fly directly to Ndola following his Saturday league match for Jinan Xingzhou. Unfortunately, this means Sunzu will miss the Copper Bullets' week-long camp in Johannesburg, where Coach Avram Grant and the team are preparing for their upcoming match against the Elephants. On the other hand, Yanga SC striker Kennedy Musonda is expected to join the camp after playing his team's game against Tanzania Prisons today. Canadian-based Aime Mabika was also issued a Zambian passport yesterday and is yet to be known if he will report for national team duty. Zambia is set to host Côte D’Ivoire at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on 17th June for a crucial AFCON 2023 round 5 qualifier. Ivory Coast remains unbeaten with 10 points, while Zambia sits in second place with 9 points. They only need one point to secure their place in the continental football showpiece for the first time since 2015. Comoros and Lesotho currently have 3 and 1 point, respectively.
