Inside sources from the football, house reveal that the technical bench of the Zambia national team is planning to undertake two national team projects. One team will be responsible for playing AFCON games and preparing for the World Cup, comprising foreign-based players mixed with some local talents. The other team will consist of players from the under-23 and under-20 squads, as well as locally-based stars, with the objective of forming a competitive team for the Cosafa tournament in Durban, South Africa. Furthermore, this same team will participate in the CHAN tournament. Justin Shonga has displayed exceptional form since his return to Zambia, representing the struggling Nkwazi football club. Nkwazi is in dire need of a victory in their final campaign match against Green Eagles on Saturday to avoid relegation. In the 20 games he has played, Shonga has already scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists. Impressively, he has netted 4 goals in the last 6 games leading up to the season's final match. Shonga has also contributed 6 goals for the national team in previous Cosafa tournaments, and he hopes to return to the regional tournament to further increase his goal tally for the national team.
