Zambia is gearing up for a much-anticipated football match between the Chipolopolo Legends and the FC Barcelona Legends. Organized by Kings of Africa in partnership with the government through the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Sports, the match is expected to highlight Zambia as a key tourism destination. It will see members of the 2012 AFCON winning squad take on former FC Barcelona players, including the legendary Ronaldinho, Kluivert, and Saviola. At a press conference on Wednesday, Sports Minister Honourable Elvis Nkandu emphasized the importance of the match and its potential benefits. The tour will showcase Zambia as a tourist destination, he said, and raise funds for youth and community programs. The government has granted Kings of Africa tax exemption to reduce the cost burden on the company. Meanwhile, Minister of Information Honourable Chushi Kasanda, who is also acting Minister of Tourism, said she expects a surge in tourist activities with the coming of this event. The FC Barcelona Legends will also have an official training session on the 24th of May, which will be open to the public. With only a few days left before the much-awaited match, football fans in Zambia are eagerly anticipating the showdown between the two teams.
