The Lusaka Golf Club's developmental golf program has successfully trained over 200 junior golfers. The program's primary objective, according to Program Coordinator Richard Phiri, is to nurture beginners into professional golf players while also exposing them to various opportunities within the sport. In 2023, 80 more golfers will be trained, with ages ranging from 5 to 18 years old. Phiri emphasized the importance of encouraging young people to take up golf as a sport, noting that it instils valuable moral values. He also pointed out that the program operates year-round, ensuring consistent training opportunities. Notably, it has already produced prominent talents like Sydney Wemba, some of whom have achieved recognition abroad.
