Zambia National Team coach Avram Grant emphasized the need to empower coaches and staff in the Zambian league during a media briefing in Lusaka. Grant stated that each club should have at least one individual with sufficient expertise to foster the growth of the game in Zambia. He proposed bringing in experts from England to provide the necessary skills and knowledge to the coaches and staff. Grant also highlighted the necessity of investing in the quality of pitches in Zambia. He expressed his desire to see players engage in good football rather than solely relying on direct play, which he observed in other matches. Grant believes that Zambia is not renowned for such a style of football and stressed the importance of improving the playing surfaces. “Pitches need to be worked on to enable players to play more football than the direct football I saw I didn't like some matches and it's not the nature of Zambian football to play like that.” Furthermore, Grant commended the spirit of players in the Zambian league, stating that it exceeded his expectations. He expressed satisfaction with the performance of the players selected from local teams. However, he emphasized the need for pitches to be improved to facilitate a more expansive style of play, aligning with the nature of Zambian football.
