Kansanshi Dynamos football club has shown displeasure with remarks made by FAZ Western province chairman Arthur Kamuloso during an AGM meeting that Kansanshi was responsible for the delayed completion of the rehabilitation works at FIFA-funded Solwezi independence stadium which has dragged on for more than 11 months. In a statement, Kansanshi Dynamos said that they were the most affected part by the failure to complete the works at the stadium and that shifting the blame on them was done in bad faith. “We as Kansanshi Dynamos are disappointed. We are the most affected part in this situation and we strongly believe that the statement of shifting responsibility to the institution was made in bad faith.” It is alleged that the western province FAZ boss disclosed that the failure to complete the works on time at the FIFA-funded Solwezi stadium was the doing of the top-flight side Kansanshi Dynamos. The manga boys have however acknowledged the work that has been done so far though they pointed out that 70% of the grass on the turf germinated from the old beautiful playing surface and only 30% of the planted grass can be observed. The club has stressed that their offer to help in speeding up the completion of works at the stadium proved futile as the provincial office kept telling them that there was no need for them to get involved as they promised the work would be done within a period of 2 to 3 months. “We held several meetings with the provincial FAZ office where we and our sponsors offered to help to speed up the completion of the renovation process. This proved futile as we kept getting assurances from the Provincial FAZ office that there was no need to panic as work was going to be completed within 2-3 months.” Kansanshi Dynamos has however urged the provincial FAZ administration to focus more on supervising the works at the stadium as opposed to playing the blame game.
