Football Association of Zambia President Andrew Kamanga has officially announced that the national women's football team, known as the Copper Queens, will be playing a send-off friendly match against Tanzania on June 11th. The match will take place at the prestigious Lusaka Heroes Stadium, serving as a farewell for the team before they embark on their international camp in Germany. "We have organized a send-off match at National Heroes Stadium on June 11 before they trek to Germany for an international camp," President Kamanga confirmed with enthusiasm. This friendly match will allow the Copper Queens to showcase their skills and further prepare for the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup. Following their friendly against Tanzania, the Zambian team will travel to Europe for their international camp. The Copper Queens have a series of challenging matches lined up against top-tier opponents. On June 22nd, they will face Ireland in Dublin, followed by a match against Switzerland in Zurich on June 30th. Their European camp will conclude with a game against Germany in Furth on July 7th. Notably, all the teams they will face during their European campaign are participants in the FIFA Women's World Cup. Zambia has been drawn into Group C for the tournament, alongside formidable teams such as Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica. Despite being considered underdogs in their group, President Kamanga expressed confidence in the Copper Queens' abilities, stating, "We have no doubt the Copper Queens will be one of the surprise packages of the tournament."
