With his mesmerizing footwork, Kampamba weaved his way past the visitors' defense and successfully dispatched a shot past Kelvin Malunga, securing the winning goal for Zesco United in the 52nd minute. Despite the team's victory, Zesco United's hopes of qualifying for the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup were dashed by Muza's 2-1 triumph over Zanaco. As a result, the Mazabuka-based side secured the coveted spot in the continental competition. The season has been a rollercoaster ride for Zesco United, struggling initially until a change in management saw George Lwandamina take over from Mumamba Numba.
