It was a disappointing day for NAPSA Stars as they were held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Chambishi FC in their Zambian Premier League encounter on Saturday. The result meant that the Pensioners missed out on the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Power Dynamos who are currently 10 points ahead of them. Despite dominating the majority of the game, Napsa failed to convert their chances and had to settle for a point. NAPSA coach Perry Mutapa was visibly frustrated with the result but acknowledged that his team had created enough chances to win the game. "The only consolation we get is that we did not lose, we created chances and we could have scored so it’s a frustrating result, but we shall take a point," he said after the match. The draw moved NAPSA from second to third on the table with 46 points, trailing second-placed Green Buffaloes FC by 2 points. The Pensioners have had an inconsistent season so far, having won 12, drawn 10, and lost 8 of their 30 league matches. They will need to improve their performances in the remaining fixtures if they hope to finish the season on a high note. Their next match is against Nchanga Rangers, a team that is currently in the bottom half of the table. The game will be played at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka and will provide a good opportunity for NAPSA to get back to winning ways. Coach Mutapa will be looking to his star players like Adams Zikiru and Augustine Mulenga to lead the team to victory. Zikiru has been a standout performer for NAPSA this season, with his eye for goal. However, Nchanga Rangers will be no pushovers and will be looking to cause an upset. The visitors have shown resilience in recent games, beating Green Eagles 2-1 before drawing with log leaders Power Dynamos 0-0 over the weekend. The stage is set for an intriguing encounter between the two sides, with NAPSA looking to keep their continental hopes alive and Nchanga Rangers fighting for survival in the top flight. The Pensioners will need to be at their best if they hope to secure all three points and keep their dream alive. Photo credit- Napsa Stars Media
