On 14th April 2023, Vice President of Zambia Mutale Nalumango through the speech read on her behalf by Southern Province Minister, Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa said that government recognizes the role the commonwealth sports movement plays in bringing diverse nations together. Nalumango said that important collaboration should be utilized to come up with initiatives that will be implemented by member countries. She further added that the government has continued to put up policies to ensure athletes are prepared and ready to perform at the highest level towards producing the much-needed results. During the official opening of the Commonwealth Games Federation Africa Regional Meeting in Livingstone, Hon. Mweetwa thanked Commonwealth delegates for the effort made to attend the event. Speaking during the same event, Commonwealth Games Federation President, Dame Louise Martin said the federation works hard to raise the profile of Commonwealth Sport.
