Former Chipolopolo midfielder Chisamba Lungu was seen training on Wednesday afternoon at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka. The 32-year-old midfielder trained with Nkwazi, the Zambian Super League club he signed for at the start of this season. Chisamba suffered a tibial fracture in August last year, but he has been working hard to regain his fitness since the beginning of this year. During this time, he has also been coaching a lower-tier side called Airport FC. Chisamba has had an illustrious career, spending eight years in Eastern Europe with Baia Zugdidi of Georgia and the Russian side Ural. Before his move to Europe, he played for Kafue FC and Zanaco. Upon his return from Europe, Chisamba signed for Buildcon in a big-money deal before moving on to Nkana and then Nkwazi. He was also part of the Zambia national team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012, and he represented his country at three different editions of the tournament - 2012, 2013, and 2015. Chisamba Lungu is widely regarded as one of Zambia’s fine midfielders and his return to full fitness is sure to excite Nkwazi FC His experience and skill on the field will undoubtedly be an asset to the team.
