Nkana Football Club on May 17, 2023, extended the contract of Congolese Striker David Kabala until 2025. The decision to offer Kabala a new and improved deal comes as a result of his exceptional performance since joining the club on a short-term contract from JS Groupe Bazano. The Congolese striker has made a significant impact on Nkana since his arrival, scoring an impressive six goals in his last eight games. Rumors of interest from Tanzanian clubs had been circulating, but Nkana successfully fended off those advances to retain their prized asset. Additionally, Zesco United had shown keen interest in Kabala, but the player ultimately chose to commit his future to Nkana. In addition to Kabala's contract extension, midfielder Gloire Bakafwa has also agreed to a two-year deal at Nkana. Bakafwa has had a promising start to his career at Chilata, and the club sees great potential in his abilities. Despite their star signings and individual successes, Nkana Football Club has struggled to maintain good form this season, currently sitting in 11th place on the league table with 45 points. Out of the 33 matches played, they have only managed to secure victory in 11 of them. Looking ahead, Nkana aims to conclude the season on a high note as they prepare to host Kansanshi Dynamos on the final day. The club is optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming campaign and hopes to regain their winning form.
