Zambian striker Kennedy Musonda and his team, Yanga SC from Tanzania, have secured their spot in the CAF Confederations Cup finals. They achieved this feat by defeating the South African team Marumo Gallants FC with an impressive 4-1 aggregate scoreline. In the second leg of the semifinals, played in South Africa, Musonda contributed significantly to Yanga SC's victory, scoring the team's second goal in a 2-1 win. Since his transfer from Power Dynamos in January, Musonda has been in exceptional form, exhibiting his goal-scoring prowess. Prior to his move, he netted an impressive tally of 13 goals in the MTN FAZ Super League with Power Dynamos. In the CAF Confederations Cup, Musonda has continued to shine, having scored four goals and provided two assists in seven matches so far. With his consistent performances, he hopes to not only win the tournament but also add to his already impressive list of achievements this season. Having already clinched the league title in Tanzania and the Zambian league title with Power Dynamos, Musonda has enjoyed a highly successful campaign. Additionally, he secured the charity shield trophy with Yanga SC. Now, he sets his sights on lifting the CAF Confederations Cup trophy, which would be a remarkable accomplishment. Yanga SC will face USM Alger from Algeria in the finals, which will be contested over two legs. The first leg is scheduled to take place in Tanzania on May 28, 2023, with the return leg set for June 3, 2023, in Algeria. Musonda and his teammates are eager to showcase their skills and determination in pursuit of the ultimate prize in African club football.
