FIFA has announced that the renovation works at Chipata's David Kaunda Stadium are almost finished, bringing the facility one step closer to being handed over to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ). According to David Fani, the FIFA Southern Africa Regional Office Lead, the contractor only needs to complete minor tasks, such as markings, before the project is finalized. Fani made these remarks during his visit to the stadium construction site. Meanwhile, Mathias Phiri, the Project Consultant, revealed that a mere five percent of the construction work remains outstanding. FAZ Eastern Province Chairperson, Chrispin Kamuna, expressed gratitude for the support provided by FIFA in infrastructure development and pledged to continue seeking their assistance. The renovation of David Kaunda Stadium is part of FIFA's initiative to revamp various facilities in Zambia, with a budget of $300,000 allocated to the project.
