Zambian golfer Sydney Wemba expressed his disappointment with his performance at the Kinshasa Open, where he posted a challenging five-over-par total of 149 heading into the final round. Taking to his Facebook page, Wemba shared his mixed emotions, noting that while he struck the ball exceptionally well, he encountered difficulties on the putting greens. His Day One score had been two-over 74, and he found himself at +5 for the tournament. In his Facebook post, Wemba shared his determination to make the most of the final round, acknowledging that he still had a chance to improve his standing. He thanked everyone for their support and encouragement. Despite his struggles, Wemba occupied the fifth position, trailing Frenchman Aubin Lacaze by five strokes. Lacaze held the lead with a total score of one-under 143 after round two. Victor Mapwanya from Zimbabwe secured the second spot, carding an even-par 144, while Snow Greg of Kenya claimed third place with a total of four-over 147. Notably, Zimbabwe's Rabson Chinoi, the winner of the 2023 Zanaco Masters, faced a challenging round and entered the final round at three-over 147. At the time of reporting, the golfers were battling it out on the course, vying for the honours in the final round of the competition.
