In a recent development, the President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Andrew Kamanga, has criticized Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu over allegations of opposition towards the Barcelona vs. 2012 Chipolopolo Legends game. Kamanga has accused the Minister of falsely accusing the FAZ administration of disrespecting the government and opposing the game. Kamanga has also raised concerns over the Minister's past involvement in FAZ elections, claiming that he served as Kalushya Bwalya's campaign manager. Kamanga has challenged Nkandu to declare his interest and clarify his position on the matter. Kamanga has emphasized that the FAZ administration is not against the Barcelona vs. Zambia game, but they want the rights of the association to be respected. He clarified that the game is a commercial venture, not a social event, and therefore, it must be organized by the rules and regulations. The President of FAZ has expressed his disappointment with the Minister's actions and urged him to refrain from making baseless accusations against the association. Kamanga has also emphasized the importance of promoting a positive relationship between the government and sports organizations to ensure the development and growth of sports in Zambia.
