Barbra Christine Makwaza, Zambia's representative for the 25th Cohort of the MEMOS (Executive Masters in Sport Organizations Management) programme, has successfully completed her studies. Her journey led her to Lausanne, Switzerland, where she presented her project, "Factors that Contribute to Low Participation in Sports (Sitting Volleyball) by People with Disabilities in Lusaka, Zambia (1996-2023)" on September 8, 2023. This project was part of the requirements for the master's programme, endorsed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Makwaza's graduation signifies a significant achievement for her and the future of sports in Zambia. She expressed her dedication to promoting the involvement of young people with disabilities in major sports events and activities across the nation, aiming to contribute to the growth of the country. Looking ahead, Makwaza intends to lead positive change in the sitting volleyball community by enhancing capacity building for coaches and administrators in Zambia. Leveraging her knowledge in Human Resource Management, she aspires to improve the organization of this discipline. Boniface Kambikambi, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), commended Barbra Makwaza for her dedication and the support she received from her federation in pursuing this impactful journey.
