ZSIC General Insurance has once again shown its support for the Copper Queens, the Zambian women's national football team, by providing a generous sponsorship package. The speech, read by Deputy Director Marketing Kuda Ngoma on behalf of Acting Managing Director Mrs. Sylvia Nguluwe, expressed excitement and pride in being associated with the team's journey to the 2023 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The sponsorship includes free Travel Medical Insurance for the entire delegation, consisting of the team and technical bench, totaling 54 members. The insurance coverage will extend to emergency costs, such as medical expenses, hospitalization, loss of passports, and loss of luggage, providing peace of mind during their travels. ZSIC General Insurance aims to alleviate the burden on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and the government in their preparations for the World Cup. FAZ Secretary General Reuben Kamanga received the sponsorship package and expressed gratitude, emphasizing the significant financial support it provides in preparing the national team for competitions. Kamanga sees the sponsorship as motivation for the coaches and players to excel and effectively represent Zambia on the global stage. He also called upon other businesses to join in supporting the Copper Queens, highlighting the positive impact it has on promoting women's participation in sports and improving lives.
