Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu has announced that the Chipolopolo players, who represent the Zambian national football team, will receive a generous reward of $10,000 each for successfully qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast. Following their triumphant victory over the hosts Ivory Coast, Nkandu personally addressed the players and revealed that an additional $5,000 will be awarded to each player for their outstanding contribution to securing qualification. The sports minister also disclosed that the remaining $5,000 represents the winning bonus for their remarkable performance during the match. The atmosphere was jubilant as Nkandu, accompanied by other esteemed Cabinet ministers, extended their congratulations to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), the technical staff, and the players themselves for their resolute efforts in leading the country back to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament after three previous unsuccessful attempts. Zambia's momentous 3-0 victory over Ivory Coast in the match held in Ndola on Saturday cemented their place among the 24 nations set to compete in the prestigious tournament, which will take place next year.
