Zambia will be participating in their first-ever WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup in Ankara, Turkey from 10th to 15th October 2023. A total of eight national teams, including Tunisia, Ghana, Chinese Taipei, China, South Korea, Zambia, France, and hosts Turkey, have already qualified for the 12-team tournament. With the unveiling of the home and away kits to be used by the Zambia U18 Baseball5 team at the Baseball5 Youth World Cup next month in Turkey, the Zambia Baseball5 Association has vowed to come up with various fundraising ventures which will support the logistics of the trip. Some of the fundraising ventures will include selling the newly received kits to raise additional funds for the first-ever World Cup appearance. Speaking in an interview, ZBSA General Secretary Kenny Matishi appreciated the playoff for the kits, describing the sponsorship as one of the best gifts the Association has ever received regarding the development of baseball and softball in the country. "We want to assure the public that this is very good for us, and we will use different means to fundraise for our trip, including selling some of the kits we received and reaching out to the Ministry of Sports," he said.
