The team's first encounter was against China, where they displayed a strong start by winning the initial set. However, the match ultimately favored China with a final score of 2-1 as they dominated the third set with scores of 9-0, 6-8, and 13-0. In the afternoon, Zambia took on Tunisia, who proved to be a tough opponent. Despite the tough competition, Zambia rose to the occasion, securing a 2-0 victory by winning both sets with scores of 0-10 and 2-3.
