Siame Mweelwa, who lives in Musonda Compound in Kitwe, Zambia, shared that her journey with Baseball5 began in 2022 when the sport was introduced at her school. She shared that she was the only student in her class who embraced the sport. Siame mentioned how her coach, Coach Chabi, noticed her absence when she dropped out of school due to failing her 9th-grade exams. Coach Chabi encouraged her to return to school, offered to pay her school fees, and she resumed her education and baseball training. Siame's determination led to her selection for inter-district competitions and ultimately participation in the inter-country tournament in Ghana, where Zambia won the bronze medal.
