Sport In Action began the Girls in Action Programme with the goal of introducing sports to Zambian communities, working closely with the Wallace group, the leading consortium of sports universities in the UK. Through this collaborative partnership, the organization strives to effectively carry out its mission and vision. The Girls in Action (GIA) initiative utilizes sports and recreational activities to educate and provide information to young women and girls on sensitive social, health, and personal issues they encounter. "In Girls in Action, we can freely express our thoughts because we are all girls here. This allows us to share our perspectives. We learn things that our parents may not be able to teach us, but our coaches and mentors guide us," shared Loveness Banda, a netball and basketball player for Fountain of Hope. The program follows a "by girls for girls" approach and has trained 30 young women as GIA ambassadors. These ambassadors are prepared to educate and make a positive impact on the lives of numerous other young women and girls in their respective communities. Moreover, the ambassadors provide valuable life skills to the girls as they progress in their sporting journeys.
