Zambia's Under-17 Men's National Team striker, Linecker Mbesuma, has expressed his ambition to secure one of the four tickets available for the U17 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place later this year. Speaking after the team's training at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium Annex in Constantine, Mbesuma stated that the players are working hard and are focused on their upcoming match against Nigeria in the opening Group B match on Sunday at the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Algeria 2023. The tournament will commence today and the top four teams, after May 19, will qualify for the World Cup. Mbesuma noted that the team's first target is to progress out of the group stage, as it is a tough group. Their next target is to win the AFCON and secure a place in the World Cup. He also acknowledged the influence of his father, Collins Mbesuma, who has guided him in his football career. Mbesuma hopes to make a name for himself like his father, who is a well-known footballer in Zambia. Mbesuma emphasized the importance of playing in other age group teams such as the Under-20, Under-23, and eventually the national team. He described it as a process that would lead to fulfilling every young footballer's dream of playing for the senior national team. He concluded by stating that the team is focused and determined to achieve their goals in the tournament. Picture -FAZ Media
