Green Buffaloes and Zambia Women's National Team defender, Lushomo Mweemba, who suffered an ankle injury in March while playing for her club, is nearing full fitness but will still be out for a few more weeks to fully recover. Mweemba has missed two international friendly matches against South Korea since her injury. However, Green Buffaloes head coach, Charles Haalubono, has disclosed that the international defender has started individual light training and physical exercises, and is no longer experiencing pain. Mweemba completed her physiotherapy treatment last week and is expected to resume group training with the rest of the team in the coming weeks. Zambia is set to enter camp next month ahead of their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and Zambians are hoping Mweemba will be fully fit soon. The Copper Queens will play Ireland and Switzerland in June before ending their preparations in July with a match against two-time world champions, Germany. The FIFA Women’s World Cup is scheduled to begin from July 20th, 2023, to August 20th, 2023, and Zambia is in Group C alongside Spain, Costa Rica, and Japan. Picture -FAZ Media
