Chipolopolo Boys coach, Avram Grant, is preparing to announce his provisional squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier scheduled for next month. The highly experienced former Chelsea manager aims to assemble a formidable team in anticipation of this crucial match. It is anticipated that the 68-year-old coach will retain the majority of players from the previous training camp. The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has not yet issued an official statement regarding player selections. However, SC Lecce, a club competing in the top tier of Italian football, has confirmed that their talented winger, Lameck Banda, has received a call-up to join the national squad under the guidance of coach Avram Grant. To secure their place at the continental showpiece for the first time since 2015, Zambia must secure at least one point in this upcoming qualifier. The match is scheduled to take place on June 17th at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, where Zambia will face Ivory Coast. Presently, the Chipolopolo Boys hold the second position in Group H with 9 points, trailing the current group leaders, Ivory Coast, by only one point. Comoros occupies the third position on the Group H standings with 3 points, while Lesotho sits at the bottom with just one point.
