The Commander of the Zambia National Service (ZNS), Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi, has expressed concern over the poor performance of the Green Eagles football club this season. Despite the team being provided with all necessary logistics, Green Eagles have not been consistent with their wins, leading to disappointment from the ZNS Command. In a recent media briefing, General Solochi stated that there is an urgent need to address the team's challenges to start getting positive results. He emphasized that the problem was not with the coach but with the team itself. Despite the dismissal of Aggrey Chiyangi, one of the country's best coaches, the team has not been able to improve its performance. General Solochi further stated that it is time for the players to take responsibility and man up. He suggested that the ZNS Command will formalize a mechanism that drops underperforming players and replaces them with young, hungry players from the service's lower team. This approach, he believes, will tighten competition within the team and improve their overall performance. Green Eagles, currently in seventh place on the league table with 46 points, still have a mathematical chance of qualifying for continental football next season. However, with only 3 matches left to play, the team must step up their game to achieve this goal.
