Saturday, 29th July 2023, marked an exhilarating day for netball enthusiasts as the Midlands Netball Association (MINA) hosted their Premier League Week 11 games at the prestigious Kabwe Tennis Club. The venue buzzed with anticipation as players and fans alike gathered to witness the high-stakes matches. The day kicked off with an intense clash between Red Arrows and Mazabuka. From the starting whistle, Red Arrows showed their dominance on the court, swiftly maneuvering the ball and landing shots with precision. In a display of exceptional teamwork, they secured a commanding victory, leaving Mazabuka scoreless at 40-0. The following match between Green Buffaloes and Kalingalinga was nothing short of riveting. Both teams demonstrated remarkable skills, but it was the Green Buffaloes who roared ahead, showcasing their offensive prowess to outscore Kalingalinga 73-27. The atmosphere heightened as Nkwazi and Eagles stepped onto the court. It was a nail-biting encounter, with both teams fiercely vying for the lead. As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard displayed an exciting 33-33 draw, leaving spectators in awe of the closely contested match. LCC and NAPSA took center stage in the next fixture. The game was a spectacle of agility and strategy, as both teams skillfully defended their posts and launched impressive attacks. In the end, NAPSA managed to secure a narrow 42-38 victory over LCC, bringing the crowd to their feet in applause. As the sun started to set, the enthusiasm remained unwavering for the last match of the day between Prison and UNZA. Prison displayed an incredible show of force, outmaneuvering their opponents at every turn. UNZA struggled to keep up, leading to a final score of 68-12 in favor of Prison. In the men's category, the competition was equally fierce. UNZA men showcased their skills as they emerged triumphant over Nkwazi with a stunning 40-0 victory. Meanwhile, the match between Buffaloes and Green Eagles was a closely fought battle, but the latter ultimately claimed a 38-27 win. Throughout the day, the players' dedication, skill, and sportsmanship shone brightly, earning admiration from the crowd. MINA's Head of Media and Marketing, Yvonne Kamanda, confirmed the results and commended all participants for their exceptional performances.
