Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga has expressed his concern over the recent incidents of crowd trouble that have been occurring in the MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE. In his weekly column on Monday, Kamanga called on the judicial bodies of the football association to take swift action to address the issue before the end of the season. Kamanga acknowledged the growing number of incidents of crowd trouble and violence, which he believes are tarnishing the image of football. He expressed confidence in the FAZ judicial bodies and their ability to address the issue effectively. “We have noted increasing incidences of crowd trouble and violence that tend to dent our game. We expect that our judicial bodies will swing into action to stem these incidences that have the potential to cast our game in a bad light,” Kamanga said. The FA president also emphasized the importance of clubs taking responsibility for providing adequate security during matches to prevent such incidents from occurring. “We expect that clubs do not abdicate their responsibility of providing safety and security during matches. As FAZ, we will endeavor to abide by our set standard of ensuring that all pending cases are cleared long before the season end.” In recent weeks there have been incidents where stones and other unknown objects were thrown onto the field of play, especially during goal celebrations, resulting in injuries to players and officials. Kamanga called for unity among all stakeholders in football to help address the issue of crowd trouble and violence in the MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE, urging everyone to work together to create a safe and secure environment for players, officials, and fans alike.
