The National Olympic Committee of Zambia's Athletes' Commission successfully hosted its annual athletes' workshop, marking a significant moment with Zambia's first athlete qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The workshop, attended by 40 participants representing various affiliated national federations, introduced an innovative format. It featured interactive presentations on key topics, including the Olympic Values Educational Programme, Athlete365 platform, and a Mental Health in Sports Session conducted by Aers Global. During the workshop, athlete representatives from the present national federations provided comprehensive reports. Subsequently, a 'town hall' discussion format enabled athletes to voice and discuss a wide range of issues and concerns. The event was graced by the presence of NOCZ Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi and Board Member Rodrick Ndhlovu, who also serves as the Chef De Mission for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Notably, a round of applause resounded in honor of Boxer Patrick Chinyemba, who secured Zambia's inaugural qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games following his gold medal-winning performance at the Road To Paris Boxing qualifying tournament in Dakar, Senegal. Chairperson of the Athletes' Commission, Richard Mulenga, hailed the workshop as a resounding success and eagerly anticipates further engagements with athletes at various levels.
