Numba Mumamba, the head coach of the locally assembled Zambian national team, shared his thoughts on their recent 3-0 loss to Kuwait in Egypt. The match was one of two preparatory games organized by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to ready the team for the upcoming COSAFA tournament in South Africa, scheduled for next month. Reflecting on the match, Mumamba acknowledged that the team faced a challenging opponent, particularly in the first half. He noted that they encountered difficulties, including a slow reaction in regaining possession and a lack of communication among the players. Consequently, Kuwait appeared to be the stronger side in the initial period, resulting in Zambia conceding a goal due to a breakdown in coordination between the goalkeeper and defenders. However, the coach emphasized that in the second half, his team displayed significant improvement and demonstrated their capabilities. Despite this progress, Zambia suffered two more goals due to defensive miscommunication. Mumamba praised the young players for their performance in the second half, remarking that they acquitted themselves well. He stated that the match provided valuable insights into the team's weaknesses, which they will focus on addressing before their next game against Morocco on Friday. Mumamba also highlighted that although Zambia created several promising opportunities in the second half, the lack of patience and clinical finishing among the strikers prevented them from finding the back of the net. He emphasized that this aspect will be a key area of improvement as they move forward and prepare for their next match.
