A generous donation of K20,000 has been made by a catering services company operating at Kansanshi Mine to support the development of golf among young individuals through the Kansanshi Junior Golf Foundation Club. Joel Berger, the operations executive at IFS, expressed the company's commitment to nurturing golf among the youth. He extended gratitude to Kansanshi Mine for providing the opportunity to introduce the sport to the children in Solwezi. Discussing the company's involvement, Berger stated, "We have young players who are incredibly passionate about this golf course, and I am in discussions about how we can contribute to the initiatives taking place here at Kansanshi. We decided to contribute towards the development of the younger stages." During the handover ceremony at Kansanshi Junior Golf Club, Berger conveyed his optimism that this donation would empower the club to acquire equipment for emerging golfers. He emphasized IFS's unwavering support for the junior golf foundation due to the strong presence of junior golf, which holds personal significance for him. Aaron Simfukwe, the coach of Kansanshi Junior Golf Foundation, disclosed that the club currently boasts 70 children as members. Plans are actively in progress to expand their outreach by recruiting additional young golfers from schools in Solwezi in the upcoming year.
