Thursday, 25th May 2023, Arrows Cycling Club chairperson Bruce Milunga, has said that the club will be equal to the task and challenge for honours during this weekend's 2023 PruRide race. Bruce has said that the cyclists will ensure they make a podium finish during the PruRide race which will also mark the 175th anniversary for sponsors, Prudential Insurance. Club chairperson, Milunga has pledged the club's reforms they gave taken to ensure that there is a massive improvement. "We are pushing hard this time because of being in the circuit so many times in preparation for the race. We hope to do better because we are no longer a new club and we shall be equal to the task this time," He disclosed. Milunga further said that the club was looking forward to a finish strong and battling for the K120,000 prize money pot set aside for the prize. He added that the club would be ready to compete with the experienced cyclists because the team had prepared well for the event. The race will see elite riders as well as intermediates and amateurs compete for prizes on the streets of Lusaka and each rider would be motivated to finish and make this year's race memorable. Apart from prizes, Elite Club riders would compete for the General Classification leadership. Milunga said even experienced riders would be challenged on the 37.4 km Circuit. The Lusaka City Council had granted complete and partial road closures with the Cycling Association of Zambia (CAZ) to provide marshals along the routes as the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) together with the Zambia Red | Cross to provide safety. Milunga said cyclists from Arrows would not be deterred by intense competition owing to the attractive prizes on offer.
