Zambia Sugar Company has made a substantial investment of K240,000 to revitalize the Mazabuka Golf Club. The company has also reaffirmed its unwavering support for junior golf tournaments. In an interview, Oswald Mangwenzi, the Country Managing Director, revealed that a significant portion of the funds was allocated for the rehabilitation of the golf course. Additionally, the money was used to procure new clubhouse chairs, repair an ablution block, and enhance the playing surface, all of which were in a dire state. Mangwenzi emphasized that this initiative exemplifies the company's dedication to providing young individuals in the Mazabuka District with access to various sports disciplines available in Zambia. He stated that the company firmly believes in removing any physical or financial obstacles that might hinder the youth's involvement in sports. Explaining the rationale behind their investment, Mangwenzi said, "We recognized the importance of investing in the refurbishment of the golf club and promoting junior golf because these activities also serve as excellent opportunities for collaboration and networking with stakeholders, such as growers, financial institutions, small farmers, suppliers, the local chamber of commerce, traditional affairs leaders, and the community at large."
