The final squad for the Zambia Women's National Team in the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup will be announced after the friendly match against Germany on July 7. Currently, coach Bruce Mwape has a provisional squad of 35 players, who are in camp in Lusaka. They will soon face Tanzania's Twiga Stars in an international friendly before heading to a three-week European camp in Germany. FAZ president Andrew Kamanga met the team, led by captain Barbara Banda, and emphasized that no player is guaranteed a World Cup spot. Only 23 players will make the final team, with three on standby. The selection will be based on merit and performance. Ahead of the crucial match against Germany, the Copper Queens will also play against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on June 22, followed by a match against Switzerland eight days later. Kamanga urged the players to work hard, maintain discipline, and give their best efforts. He assured them that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) would provide the necessary support, including increased winning bonuses and medical assistance.
