Chipolopolo Boys' coach, Avram Grant, has commended FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga, for the decision to camp the team in South Africa. Grant expressed his appreciation following Zambia's convincing 3-0 victory over Ivory Coast, which secured their qualification for the upcoming African Cup of Nations. The camp in South Africa provided an environment for the team to fully focus on their preparations without significant distractions. Despite concerns raised by a section of the Zambian media regarding the utilization of taxpayers' resources, Grant highlighted that the camp was a well-thought-out idea fully supported by FAZ and President Kamanga. The Gaffer acknowledged the positive impact of the camp, enabling the team to concentrate on the task at hand. Initially, 27 players set up camp in Johannesburg for an eight-day retreat-like phase of preparations. Later, with five days remaining until Saturday's match, the team shifted their base to Ndola for the final phase of training.
