While it was party time for his team-mates with their traveling fans, Maestro United Zambia (Muza) goalkeeper Monga Ndala ran to the technical bench after the final whistle protesting the mentality of the players during the Absa Cup semi-final against Trident. On Sunday, MUZA made it to the final for the first time of asking when they beat the National Division One side Trident 1-0 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe. However, MUZA had to work their lungs out to beat the North-Western Province outfit, with Ndala not inspired by the display. Mandra Muleya's shot hit defender Whiteson Songwe and rolled into the net beating goalkeeper Ian Kabambanya. After the match, Ndala, who was among the senior players, was heard complaining to assistant coach Cosmas Mujika that he was not happy with the display. "Simwamene titeyela bola so [this is not the way we are supposed to play football]. Bola ku winilatu mu dressing room. [Going into the game thinking you have already won?" Ndala complained. He was cooled down by members of the technical bench before he was told to join his teammates in celebrating the win. Meanwhile, in a post-match interview, Muza coach Lameck Banda also conceded that despite the win his team didn't play well. "We played, but not according to how we usually do. What we can say is appreciate the boys for the job well done and for qualifying for the final of the cup. This was not our best game, yes, but such [bad] games are there [in football]. The most important thing is to win so that we go and enjoy ourselves in the final," Banda said. He said MUZA will need to double their efforts when they face Forest Rangers in the Absa Cup final on May 20 at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. Forest beat Power Dynamos 2-1 on Saturday. "For Forest Rangers, I think it will be a good game [in the final]. They managed to come back from a goal down [against Power] and scored two goals, which means they are good," Banda said. "To my players, this is not the time to get excited. We need to go and work on the areas that we are lacking so that come that day, we will be able to play a good game," Banda said. Trident coach Israel Mwanza has shifted focus to qualifying for the Super League. "We have to concentrate on the league, we have to make sure that we win the league and come into the Super Division," Mwanza said. Leaders Trident have 53 points, five better than second-placed Mufulira Wanderers and Mutondo Stars, who are third due to an inferior goal aggregate. FC MUZA
