The President of the Zambia Football Association (FAZ), Andrew Kamanga, expressed his excitement in his weekly column following Chipolopolo's qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Kamanga extended his heartfelt gratitude to the thousands of fans who showed unwavering support at the electrifying Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. He acknowledged the crucial role played by the fans in motivating the team to perform exceptionally well. Kamanga also applauded the squad and the technical bench for their hard work and preparation, starting from their camp in South Africa. He emphasized the commitment to all national teams and highlighted the Copper Queens' current international camp in Germany. The Copper Queens will engage in three friendly matches against the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, and Germany as part of their preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in New Zealand. Kamanga assured that the technical bench, bolstered by additional staff members, will fine-tune the team ahead of the tournament, which commences on July 20. FAZ also expressed appreciation for the support received from the government in their efforts to enhance the development of football in the country.
