The Netball Zambia Council has taken the decisive step of removing Dr. Titus Fernando from his role on the Executive Committee with immediate effect. In a letter shared this afternoon which is dated August 17th, 2023 and addressed to Dr. Fernando, and signed by Netball Zambia President Martha Lungu-Sichone, it was communicated that he would also no longer serve as the Head of Marketing and Public Relations for the Association. This resolution was prompted by Dr. Fernando's apparent inability to fulfill his responsibilities within the Association. "The Council meeting held on 23rd March 2023 unanimously resolved to remove you from office," the letter stated. Netball Zambia expressed regret in informing Dr. Fernando that his removal from the position of Head of Marketing and Public Relations was a direct result of his failure to engage in any of the required duties. The course of action undertaken adheres to the guidelines stipulated in the Netball Zambia Constitution, specifically Article 12.0 C and D, as referenced in the letter. President Sichone additionally conveyed that the Netball Zambia Executive Committee will promptly identify a suitable candidate to fill the vacant position, ensuring the continued progression of the Association's endeavors.
