Thirty candidates, including some from across borders, have started their CAF B license course in Zambia. The program aims to invest in coach education and help develop the game. FAZ President Andrew Kamanga believes that the significant international interest in the course speaks to its value, but he hopes to widen the knowledge pool of Zambian coaches. Kamanga also announced that two Zambian coaches have been sent to Morocco to pursue CAF A training, and two coaches would undergo CAF Pro Licensing coaching. The course is examinable in theory and practice, requiring candidates to be academically proficient. CAF Instructor Sunday Kayuni expressed appreciation for his contribution to the game in teaching emerging coaches. However, he called for an evaluation of the impact of the programs. Meanwhile, candidate Nchimunya Mweetwa believes that the CAF B program is timely as it would help educate many coaches in Zambian football. He said that coaching and playing are two different things and that ex-footballers who want to become coaches must have people management skills. Simon Marange, from Orlando Pirates in South Africa, also praised the program, saying that it was an important opportunity to learn and mold better players for South Africa, Orlando Pirates, and the African continent. Among the notable attendees are 2012 Africa Cup-winning skipper Christopher Katongo, Dears Kakunta, Dennis Banda, Henry Banda, Lawrence Lubinda, Nicholas Zulu, Lewington Mujembe, and Keagan Phiri. The CAF B program selects candidates who have already obtained the CAF C license. The course is both theoretical and practical, requiring academic proficiency from candidates. Through this course, FAZ hopes to increase the number of qualified coaches to improve the quality of coaching methods in Zambian football. Picture -FAZ Media
