Green Buffaloes women beat Elite Ladies f.c 2-0 in the rescheduled week 31 fixture played Thursday afternoon at woodlands stadium to move 1 point behind leaders Red Arrows as they are looking to defend the league title. GBWFC was the champion of the inaugural edition of the Women’s League which was established in 2021. But they face stiffer competition from Red Arrows Women f.c who are top of the table on point 73 having played one more game. The win against Elite Ladies F.C. was important for Buffaloes in their quest to defend the title with only four games left till the end of the season. striker Maylan Mulenga was the star of the match scoring a brace in the second half after a goalless first half to take her tally for the season to 21 goals four goals behind the current leading top scorer Xiomara Mapepa with 4 games to go.
