Nkole Matanga, known as Mboma and captain of Zambia's National Pool Team, leaves no room for failure at the tournament. "Zambia is not merely participating; we are determined to leave a mark on the African continent at the Hawley Cup and African Championships in South Africa," he said. Alongside Chipoka Mutande, also known as Chipo, who leads the ladies' team, Zambia's title to defending the title is brighter because of her accuracy in scoring. Matanga, a seasoned player with the distinction of securing the African championships in the singles category back in 2017, brings a wealth of experience to the table. His mission is to inspire and elevate Zambia's pool players to achieve greatness on the African stage. Zambia currently holds the title of defending African champions, a title achieved following their triumphant hosting of the African championships last year at OYDC in Lusaka. Furthermore, Zambia is now 2nd globally rated after their impressive performance at the Morocco World Championships.
