The Zambia National Pool Team, former African champions, secured the bronze medal at the All African Pool Blackball Championship, held in Sandton, South Africa, from October 11th to 15th, 2023. This tournament featured teams from Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Namibia, and the host nation, South Africa. Despite entering the competition as defending champions, Zambia settled for bronze and a cash prize of R 10,000 in the Men's category. They also earned silver and another bronze in the Singles category. In the Men's Singles category, Kelvin Nkandu claimed the silver medal, earning R 13,000, while Victor Sinyinza secured the bronze. The host nation, South Africa, dominated the competition, winning four gold medals, including Men's Team Champions (R 50,000), Women's Team Champions (R 50,000), Men's Singles Champion (Aden Joseph), Women's Singles Champion (Marina Jacobs), and a silver in the Ladies Singles (Joy Willengberg). Tanzania emerged as the runners-up, earning R 25,000, with Botswana and Zimbabwe taking second and third positions in the Women's category and receiving R 25,000 and R 10,000 respectively. Additional categories included awards for Women and Men with the most lags, as well as recognition for the best break and finish in both the Men's and Women's divisions. The presentation ceremony concluded with a speech from AAPA's outgoing President, Sath Reddy, who expressed gratitude to all the teams that traveled from afar to participate in this prestigious tournament.
