In Sunday's Group D action on the Road to BAL, Munali Suns took a significant step towards securing a spot in the Elite 16 Division East. Despite dominating for three quarters and maintaining a 16-point lead, Munali Suns had to fight to the end to secure a narrow 63-61 victory against the Dolphins Basketball Club at the University of Gaborone Indoor Arena. Suns have extended their winning streak to 2-0, largely due to the exceptional performance of their star player, Harrison Banda, who contributed a game-high 19 points and 17 rebounds. Banda received support in scoring from his American teammates, Joshua Thomas (13 points), and Alfred Hollins Jr (11 points). On the Dolphins' side, Paris Collins led with 17 points, followed by Botsile Ramabu with 14 points and Ezeka Omeka Jr with 11 points. Both teams entered the game with confidence after their initial victories in Group D. Munali Suns took an early lead and displayed confidence in their offensive plays, with Banda's dominant presence in the paint, scoring 11 points by half-time, allowing the Zambians to lead 35-25. Although the Dolphins managed to stay within striking distance during most of the third quarter, the Zambians eventually pulled ahead and closed the quarter with a 16-point lead (58-42). In the final moments of the game, the Dolphins made a determined effort to close the gap, outscoring Suns 19-5 in the fourth quarter. However, Suns held on for a hard-fought victory, acknowledging the Dolphins' brave performance as they secured this crucial win.
